Overview

Utrecht, a dynamic and student city!

Located in the centre of Netherlands, Utrecht is a pretty city crossed by canals along which bars, restaurants and shops offer the visitor some good time. Let yourself be tempted by the student city and the bustling life, you will not have regrets.

About Netherlands

Stroll around the "Dom toren", the emblematic tower of the cathedral. This 14th century tower is the oldest and the highest one of the country, reaching some 112 metres.

While you are there, visit the gothic cathedral whose mural paintings dates back to the 15th century. Architecture lovers will be amazed by the Unesco listed Rietveld Schröder house. Among the unavoidable monuments to see, do not miss the largest castle of the country, the De Haar castle. Reflected in the water, it may be one of the most luxuous castle in Europe.

Utrecht can also boast about having no less than 8 fortresses. Museum lovers will be spoiled for choice.

"I cannot say much about comfort as on my trip the train is always full. Nevertheless, I can say it is very convenient as I got an open ticket. As such I am free to choose any train/time I like. There is no stress or rush for me. The staff are all friendly and polite and very willing to assist. You wont get lost ! Keep it up ! "

"It became a fast learning curve how to handle trains that do not go to plan. ICE Train did not arrive at Amsterdam - we were left not knowing that this had happened - even though we had been waiting in the ICE first class lounge. The platform speaker system in Amsterdam could not be heard to allow you to understand the information being given. Luggage storage on the ICE Trains is limited which does not seem to accommodate long distance travel as we were undertaking. While we did eventually catch the train at another station we received little assistance from ICE towards knowing what was going on. Once on board all went well. "
