Romania : CFR
The Căile Ferate Române (CFR) is the national company responsible for the rail infrastructure in Romania. The CFR operates trains in all Romania on more than 22000 km of railway track.
The Romanian railway network is well connected to other European networks which include links to the countries such as Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia, Moldova and Ukraine.
The CFR Călători offers passenger service and operates seven types of passenger train. In 2010, 58 million passengers have travelled with the CFR. CFR train types are classified as follows: Personal (P), Accelerat (A), Rapid (R), InterCity (IC), EuroCity (EC), EuroNight (EN), Special (S) whic are tourist trains operating on scenic routes.
The CFR also operates night trains known as the Euronight. They are safe trains with modern sleepers. The average speed for Rapid trains and Intercity trains in Romania are 85 km/h and 87 km/h respectively.
The CFR runs two night trains from Belgrade to Bucharest and from Budapest to Bucharest.
