Slovenia : SŽ
The Slovenske železnice (SŽ) is the national company responsible for the rail infrastructure in Slovenia. The CFR operates trains in all Slovenia on more than 1200 km of railway track.
The Slovenian railway network has links with other European countries including Italy, Croatia, Hungary and Austria. The Slovenske železnice operates six types of trains; Intercity Slovenija (ICS), InterCity (IC), EuroCity (EC), International trains (MV), EuroNight (EN), Regional (RG) and local trains (LP).
The EuroNight trains are modern international trains with sleeping cars and couchettes. SŽ also operates scenic trains along the Bohinj line.
The hub of the Slovenian rail network is the city of Ljubljana. 17 million passengers travel with the Slovenian Railways every year.
