Family Travel is More Affordable Than Ever with Rail Passes from Rail Europe

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., February 18, 2015 – There is no better time for families to travel Europe than in 2015. Rail Europe, Inc., the largest distributor of European rail products in North America, is excited to announce that families traveling with many of the European rail passes will have access to free rail travel for children. This offering is now available on the Eurail Pass product line, in addition to the Swiss Travel Pass, German Rail Pass and BritRail Pass, thus further extending the options for affordable family travel this year.*
Train travel is the best way to relax and experience the European scenery while connecting to historic and culturally rich destinations. For families – it’s comfortable, convenient, and now even more affordable. Travelers can choose from a variety of Eurail passes and country-specific passes to customize their trip to meet their travel needs:
  • New for 2015, up to two children between the ages of 4 and 11 can travel for free with an adult on the Eurail Global, Eurail Select, Regional Eurail and One-Country Eurail passes. With over 25 different pass options and unlimited rail travel in up to 28 countries, Eurail makes flexible travel a reality.
  • Families traveling with kids under the age of 16 in Switzerland can book a Swiss Travel Pass and save with the Swiss Family Card, which allows children 6 to 15 years of age to travel free when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The card is free, simply request one at the time you purchase your Swiss Travel Pass.
  • The German Rail Pass offers a free child discount, with up to two children ages 6 to 11 traveling free of charge with each adult.
  • For several BritRail Pass products, one child ages 5 to 15 can travel free with an adult on a BritRail Family Pass. All additional children ages 5 to 15 will receive a special reduced rate. This offer applies when using a standard BritRail Pass, a BritRail England Pass and a BritRail South West Pass.**
Each pass allows families to travel in comfort and provides convenient transit from city center to city center. Forget about flight check-ins, road signs and gas prices and simply enjoy a stress-free travel experience for all generations. Hop on the train a few minutes prior to departure, relax and get ready to enjoy the view.
