Glacier Express Eurail Passholder Fare

Don't miss the peak of Switzerland.

There is so much natural beauty to see in Switzerland, but no Swiss trip would be complete without this famous train link. The Glacier Express Eurail Passholder Fare from Rail Europe offers  the option to travel on the private railway not covered by your Eurail pass. Enjoy a panoramic trip from St. Moritz or Davos to Zermatt through the “Grand Canyon” of Switzerland at the heart of the Alps.  Travel from the eastern to the western Swiss Alps, through charming Swiss towns and bucolic vistas. Not to mention your travels along 291 bridges, 91 tunnels, and the 6670 foot high Oberalp. Available as a discounted “add-on” with a regular ticket, you’ll board this private Swiss railway and  travel on the journey of a lifetime. And unlike flying, you won’t be too high up or so far away that you feel distanced from it. How great is that? You’re in the postcard, instead of watching it.

Here’s what’s included:

    • A one-way ticket for the private segment not covered by your Eurailpass so you can complete the 7½ hour ride on the scenic Glacier Express railway from St. Moritz or Davos to Zermatt, Switzerland.
    • Panoramic train cars.

    • Tickets are one-way from Disentis to Zermatt. St. Moritz to Disentis will be covered by your Eurail pass.
    • Seat reservations are mandatory and additional.
    • Available only in conjunction with a Eurail pass containing Switzerland.
    • Ticket must be used within 6 months of purchase.
    • Child rates are valid for children under age15.
    • Prices are subject to change.
Why do I need to purchase the Glacier Express Eurail Passholder Fare?

A Eurail Pass that includes Switzerland does not include the private railway that travels from Zermatt to Disentis. If you want to take the Glacier Express you’ll need to purchase this ticket in order to take that train.

Why should I purchase this instead of a ticket?
This is a specially discounted ticket to go with your Eurail Pass.
