Overview

Clermont Ferrand, the pleasure of staying in the centre of France

If you need a change of scenery, if you want to have a breath of fresh air, come to the Massif Central Mountains and discover the city of Clermont Ferrand. It’s a nearly 140.000 inhabitants city located in the center of France.

About France

Clermont Ferrand is renowned for its short film festival, and it is also a place where you can find numerous museums. Among them, you can choose to explore the one of archaeology (musée Bargoin), or the one of Fine Arts (musée Roger-Quilliot), or if you are a nature lover, head the Natural History Museum (musée Henri Lecoq).

Amateur of contemporary art, visit the FRAC Auvergne. Stroll around the place de la Jaude and around the historic centre to discover the Elephant house. Dating back to the 13th century, it’s a great example of romanesque architecture.

Do not leave without visiting the UNESCO listed romanesque basilica Notre-Dame du Port.
