Libourne, a pleasant town to live in, in the Aquitaine region

Libourne is located in the southwestern part of France. This city grouping together around 40.000 inhabitants was built on the confluence of the Isle and the Dordogne river, in the heart of the famous vineyard of Bordeaux’ region.

About France

The privileged location of Libourne makes this city a great touristic place. Libourne’s city centre is worthwhile thanks to the town hall located in the charming Abel Surchamp square. This building houses the fine arts museum.

You can also walk on the quays along the two rivers and admire the old port tower. This region is well known for its vines, and you can find close to Libourne many famous appellations such as Saint Emilion or Pomerol. Numerous cellars invite you to visit the domain and to taste their famous wines.

You are only one hour away from the sea, and you can share your time between swimming and enjoying the wonderful monuments and lanscapes around Libourne.

tgv from Paris to St Cprien |
"The TGV was a good choice. Easy to get to montparnasse - I was in Latin quarter and found a No.96 bus that took me directly to the Gare Montparnasse in 15 minutes. Easier than Metro with luggage. Good idea to buy food before boarding and Pauls is the best bet at the station. Food on board is not good. I went from Paris to St Cyprien via Libourne. After Libourne you change to TER service which is quite basic and you have to be ready to get off - they don't hang about. I booked eurostar and tgv online from NZ and it was a very good website to operate. I am going to use it again for return journey in 3 weeks. c . Arnold NZ "

    Comfortable and relaxing |
"We find travel on TGV very comfortable and relaxing. We have a good game with cards for over one hour. It would have been better if we can have a choice of seats with us facing the direction of travel. We found it comfortable because we were able to change seats with other passengers who did not mind to seat facing the opposite direction of travel. Otherwise our entire trip would have been ruined. Getting to Bordeaux |
"The convenience of the train was the clear and made the journey easier. It is now a far better journey than 15 years ago. Some stations can do with some to point out where to stand before the trains arrive and easier access to get bags up and down from platforms, but these are usually relatively minor matters. "
