Loire Castles and Wine Day Trip from Paris
Loire Castles and Wine Day Trip from Paris

This was a great trip. As my tour guide said, what's better than spending the day drinking wine and looking at Disney castles? Our tour guides were entertaining and informative. The sites were beautiful and I enjoyed tasting different local wines. I feel the trip was a little overpriced, but as our only real excursion on our trip I didn't mind splurging on this one.

We really loved this trip!!! The guide was waiting for us just where we were told. We had a nice ride on an air-conditioned bus and the Chateaux de Chambord and Chenonceau were above our expectations. Both guides knew a lot of history of the Chateaux and were very nice guys. The wine tasting and meal were also very delicious. This tour is highly recomended if you wish to visit the Loire area in one day.

This was an amazing experience in the long drive to and from Loire Valley was definitely worth it. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and very accommodating. She was able to provide us history regarding each region and point out interesting landmarks. Our host at the Chenonceau wine tasting site was quite a character and very amusing! He was absolutely entertaining as he told us about wine tasting and the various regions/differences in these wine producing regions.

Highly Recommended! This was the only tour we booked while in Paris and it was worth every penny! I can't say enough about how knowledgeable and professional the tour guides were throughout the trip. Ferret and Laura, thank you again for making our experience one to remember.

This was the highlight of Paris! 3 beautiful castles, 2 wine tastings, an incredible home cooked lunch, and the history of France told like a novel. Our tour guide, Laura, was absolutely amazing! There is so much history in Paris/ the Loire Valley and she is not only knowledgeable but tells the story in such a captivating way. You get best of both worlds - a guided tour and free time to explore each castle. The only part I was concerned about prior was the long bus ride/early morning departure, but rest assured, it was very comfortable - air conditioned, coach bus and Laura let us sleep for some of the way there and back - necessary after touring and drinking the incredible wine! I could not recommend this trip more! Enjoy!!

This tour was a great way to see some of amazing castles the Loire valley! Our tour guides Zach and Erwon were both very knowledgeable and entertaining. They had great stories to tell as we were learning the history of the area, and at the end of the tour they made sure all of our questions were answered not just about the tour but also in general about our stay in Paris. The stop for lunch at a local winery was delicious, and the owners were very friendly as well. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to get out of Paris for the day!

This was the most amazing day trip we had. City Wonders is the BEST excursion provider in Paris. Their guides are fun, always cheerful and seem to love telling you stories about what you are seeing. Our guide has made me want to schedule an entire vacation in the Loire valley. While the Chateaus were amazing the highlight of the trip was our host at the wine-tasting. He is such a fun and vibrant person whose personality and generosity for sharing his vineyard with us was a special treat. The guides supervision of the tour is invaluable. City Wonders knows how to help you see Paris at its best. I will likely do this tour again, and again, and again when I visit France.

This trip was really wonderful. The two guides , Zack and Irwin, had a real chemistry going on with their interactions, and both were equally knowledgeable and made the experiences at Chambord, Chenonceau, and Nitray much more meaningful! Lunch at Nitray was excellent and the owner and his son were so welcoming that we really felt like guests, not customers. The larger chateaux were magnificent and the gardens were lovely. Unfortunately we could have spent more time at all locations, the day was long, but passed all too swiftly,

Our tour guides were wonderful. In the bus, during our approach to the castles, they gave us the history of the nobles and their families involved in the ownership of the castles, so it felt that we had a good understanding of the significance of the sites that we visited. Besides being knowledgeable, our guides had a great sense of humor, and were always happy to answer our questions. The lunch and wine tasting was superb, our hosts treated us like family. It was a long day, but it was very nice not to have to rent a car and find these places on our own. Thank you!

My husband and I stayed in Paris for a week and decided to take this day trip to the Lorie Valley. The guides were terrific. Very friendly, knowledgeable and willing to provide recommendations for other activities and restaurants. The lunch and wine tasting at Nitray Vineyards was delicious. Baked chicken, potatoes, fresh green salad, bread and plenty of wine. One word of warning, in order to fit in both chateaux and the winery, there is not much time to see the Chateaux. Maybe one hour at each. At Chenonceau, I would have liked a little more time to walk through the gardens and see the magnificent interior. This is no fault of the tour. There just simply isn't enough time. Overall a great introduction to the Loire Valley!

I great day trip to see these wonderful castles. Even though it was a three hour bus ride, it didn't seem like it. The motor coach was comfortable and planned stops for breaks. The castles were amazing, and the wine tasting and lunch was great! The gentlemen who hosted the lunch was genuinely friendly and hilarious. He made it all the more fun.

These three sites were absolutely breathtaking. Chateaux de Chambord is by far the largest, and is said to be the inspiration for the castle in Beauty and the Beast. Whether that's true or not won't really matter once you get there first sight will take your breath away. Fer Ferret and Katrina were some of the best tour guides I had during my stay in Paris. Very, very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

The Chateaux tour was well worth doing. It was a long day out of Paris, but that's the only way to get there, right? Loved the tours and the vineyard.

The weather was terrible on the day of our tour... However, our guides Daniel and Claire made the day totally enjoyable with their incredible knowledge on the history and the castles we visited along with their sense of humour! The castles were incredibly beautiful especially the Chateaux Chenonceau! Lunch was also enjoyable at Chateau de Nitray. If you have one day to tour outside Paris, I highly recommend this one!

What an incredible time with Daniel the irish-man. I learned more in a day with him touring the Chateaux's of the Loire Valley then 4 years of French class and history. Truly an incredible trip and an amazing time. Highly recommend this tour and these guys. Absolutely one of the most amazing experiences ever. It is a long day 12 hours, but you get ample time and three different Chateaux's, a fabulous country lunch on a vineyard/real french country farm, and beautiful scenery. A must do!

Guide, David, told a lot of interesting stories about places in the tour, historical details, etc. Time in the way passed really quickly.
Beautiful castles, good dinner and wine tasting!

This was a most delightful tour! Everything ran like clockwork, and our guide Adam was incredible. He was knowledgeable, funny, professional and helpful. We just spent ten days touring Europe and he was, by far, the best guide of all. I wish we could have had him for all our tours! Highly recommend him!
