Loire Castles and Wine Day Trip from Paris
Loire Castles and Wine Day Trip from Paris

This was a great trip. We met the bus right across the street from a Metro stop in Paris and it left right on time at 7:30 AM. The drive to the country was pleasant, and our guide Carolina provided a lot of interesting information as we went. The guided tours of Chambord and Chenonceau were well done and enjoyable, and the wine tasting and lunch were also great. It was a very well done tour. The only problem we had was that we got stuck in massive traffic coming back into Paris after the tour. That part was frustrating, but not the fault of the tour company at all.

Our guides, Daniel and Carolina were entertaining and very well informed on the history of the area, we learned so much! The wines were delicious as well as the lunch at the Chateau de Nitray. The chateax were lovely. I would highly recommend this tour, very fun!

Great introduction to the Loire Valley and its chateaux in a well-organized tour! Daniel, our tour guide, was both knowledgeable and entertaining he added much to our understanding of each chateau and its relation to the history of France. The simple, but tasty and filling, lunch at a private chateau, and wine tastings both there and at Chenonceau which is especially lovely, really enhanced our outing. Highly recommend this trip!

Ferret is a wonderful guide. He made the tour more personal by knowing our names. Even during the bus ride he faced us and engaged us about the history of the places we've been to. The chateaus are breathtaking. Lunch was delicious and I personally love the wines I took home 3 bottles. At the end of the tour he offered his assistance on any information we needed for our stay in Paris.

We loved the chateaux tour! Our guide Carolina kept us so entertained on the bus with great stories of French history and the chateaux inhabitants, and then continued the history inside the chateaux, which made the rooms come to life. The selection of castles was well thought out, and Chenonceau was particularly breathtaking. Lunch at the Chateau Nitray was relaxing, simple and delicious and included plenty of wine, and it was interesting to see a modern family living in a chateau. The chateau owner was particularly fun and welcoming.

Wonderful Day! Our guide, Tina, gave us a great history lesson during the tour which made this tour special. The first stop at the Château de Chambord, we saw the wonderful architecture and also details of the work of Leonard de Vinci's grand staircase in the middle of the castle. Enjoy the gourmet lunch and wine tasting at our stop in Nitray Vineyards located at the Château de Nitray . The host gave us a tour of their grounds after lunch . On our way to our third stop, we went through the town of Amboise, we passed by the Château d'Amboise and Tina showed us while passing by, the doors of the city underground tunnels where all the resident could flee from dangers. Then our third stop, we tour the wonderful Château de Chenonceau, its farm and gardens, this was my favorite of the tour!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our day to the Loire Valley. It was lovely to see the Chateaus and some of the French countryside during our stay in Paris. Our guide Carolina was wonderful, sharing stories about the history along the way and pointing out key information at each of the Chateaus but also giving us plenty of free time at each location to wander and enjoy. The hosts at Chateau Nitray were also lovely and the food delicious.

We loved our trip to the Loire Valley. Tina was a terrific guide. She was very knowledgeable concerning the history of the area and entertained us with stories of the kings and their ladies. The tour guides Adam and Hugo made this a most enjoyable day - they were both entertaining story tellers bringing to life the times of various Kings, Queens and Mistresses of the times. The wine at the first stop was very good and sold for a very good price. Lunch was delicious as well.
