Loire Castles and Wine Day Trip from Paris
Loire Castles and Wine Day Trip from Paris

This tour was absolutely worth it. Our tour guide Laura was extremely knowledgeable and shared so much history about the castle we visited, the royalty that lived there and French history in general. She also spent some time afterwards answer questions from guests about places to eat, the metro, getting to the airport, etc. So kind! Chamboard and Chenoneau are truly beautiful and absolutely worth the drive. Lunch was charming and the wine tasting at lunch and Chenonceau was well worth it. It is a long day, but many rest stops are provided. I recommend bringing snacks, so you don't have to worry about making time to buy them instead of seeing the castles. Highly recommend.

This was fantastic and we would highly recommend it to anyone. The two guides were very knowlegeable and personable. They took the time to explain all the history of the chateaus before we got there and continued throughout the time we walked into them. The most entertaining and fun however was the trip to Chateaux de Nivry where we go to have lunch and do a wine tasting as part of the experience. The owner who lead it was was funny, personable, and made the whole experience memorable. It was just a very enjoyable 12 hours.

We had a wonderful day in the Loire valley. Laura was an excellent guide who gave us so much information about French history and the castles we visited. I would recommend her as a guide any dat.

Both chateaux were worth the visit, and the wine tastings were generous and good quality. Be aware that access to both castles, especially Chenonceau, require lots of walking to get to the entrance. The lunch served at Vitray was terrific and the guides were native English speakers so no issues with communication as we had with other day trips.

The trip itself is amazing. The Chateaux are all wonderful. What made the trip was our tour guide Lara. She took control by level setting the day, giving us time to wake up, and passionately sharing the rich history of the region with us. Lara's knowledge made the setting really come to life. The bus was comfortable and convenient. We really enjoyed this tour.

We book this to get out of the city and see a different side of France! We couldn't have booked a better tour, our guides were awesome - funny and informative. The castles were amazing, especially liked the Château de Chenonceau just amazing how it built over the river - the quintessential Princess Castle. The wine tasting and lunch were great too! Thanks again for a fun day!

This was a really fun trip. The castles were amazing, the guides were great and added a lot to the tour, and the wine tasting lunch was the best. The vintner-host was very warm and welcoming, he explained the wine and how to taste, he was funny, and the food his wife and chef made was rustic, very tasty, and plentiful. I would do this trip again.

This was a great trip. As my tour guide said, what's better than spending the day drinking wine and looking at Disney castles? Our tour guides were entertaining and informative. The sites were beautiful and I enjoyed tasting different local wines. I feel the trip was a little overpriced, but as our only real excursion on our trip I didn't mind splurging on this one.

We really loved this trip!!! The guide was waiting for us just where we were told. We had a nice ride on an air-conditioned bus and the Chateaux de Chambord and Chenonceau were above our expectations. Both guides knew a lot of history of the Chateaux and were very nice guys. The wine tasting and meal were also very delicious. This tour is highly recomended if you wish to visit the Loire area in one day.

This was an amazing experience in the long drive to and from Loire Valley was definitely worth it. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and very accommodating. She was able to provide us history regarding each region and point out interesting landmarks. Our host at the Chenonceau wine tasting site was quite a character and very amusing! He was absolutely entertaining as he told us about wine tasting and the various regions/differences in these wine producing regions.

Highly Recommended! This was the only tour we booked while in Paris and it was worth every penny! I can't say enough about how knowledgeable and professional the tour guides were throughout the trip. Ferret and Laura, thank you again for making our experience one to remember.

This was the highlight of Paris! 3 beautiful castles, 2 wine tastings, an incredible home cooked lunch, and the history of France told like a novel. Our tour guide, Laura, was absolutely amazing! There is so much history in Paris/ the Loire Valley and she is not only knowledgeable but tells the story in such a captivating way. You get best of both worlds - a guided tour and free time to explore each castle. The only part I was concerned about prior was the long bus ride/early morning departure, but rest assured, it was very comfortable - air conditioned, coach bus and Laura let us sleep for some of the way there and back - necessary after touring and drinking the incredible wine! I could not recommend this trip more! Enjoy!!

This tour was a great way to see some of amazing castles the Loire valley! Our tour guides Zach and Erwon were both very knowledgeable and entertaining. They had great stories to tell as we were learning the history of the area, and at the end of the tour they made sure all of our questions were answered not just about the tour but also in general about our stay in Paris. The stop for lunch at a local winery was delicious, and the owners were very friendly as well. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to get out of Paris for the day!

This was the most amazing day trip we had. City Wonders is the BEST excursion provider in Paris. Their guides are fun, always cheerful and seem to love telling you stories about what you are seeing. Our guide has made me want to schedule an entire vacation in the Loire valley. While the Chateaus were amazing the highlight of the trip was our host at the wine-tasting. He is such a fun and vibrant person whose personality and generosity for sharing his vineyard with us was a special treat. The guides supervision of the tour is invaluable. City Wonders knows how to help you see Paris at its best. I will likely do this tour again, and again, and again when I visit France.
