of people , ours had 7 in total. Our instructor Javier was great . If you only do one thing make sure its this class
Great experience. Interesting tour of the market, followed by foolproof step by step instructions in the cookery class. Instructors were fantastic - patient, knowledge and friendly.
Toured Firenze's largest food market. Guide bought fresh meat for our class. We went less than a block to our kitchen, where we made pasta, cheese filled ravioli, meat sauce ragu, and tiramisu. It was cooked and enjoyed with wine, cheese, and bruschetta. You will meet nice people, learn to cook like an Italian, and have a great lunch that you helped prepare.
great instructors...lots of fun and good eats!
Terrific experience. Beautiful drive to villa. Our chef, Marco, was knowledgeable, helpful and easy to work with. Highly recommend this to anyone interested Italian food
Terrific experience. Beautiful drive to villa. Our chef, Marco was knowledgeable, helpful and easy to work with. Food was terrible with nice wine. Highly recommend to anyone interested in Italian food
My grandson and I loved this cooking class. We started off shopping in the market and choosing the ingredients for our cookery lesson. The amazing variety of goods and the explanations about what we were seeing was really interesting. The atmosphere of the market and the wonderful aromas were amazing. We enjoyed the cooking experience immensely. The chefs were passionate about what they were doing and conveyed their passion to our small number of trainee 'chefs'. It was simple cuisine but truly full of flavour. The tasting of various aged Parmesan cheeses and balsamic vinegars was great as was the introduction to first class truffles. The five hours flew past and we thoroughly enjoyed out culinary efforts. This was a real highlight of our trip.
This was wonderful. We were actually upgraded to the VIP Master Class. There were 7 of us altogether my husband, grown son, and myself, 2 ladies from San Francisco, and 2 young ladies from Australia. Guisippee, the chef was funny, knowledgeable, and so very nice. We first stopped at a caffè for a complimentary breakfast of cappuccino, tea, or espresso, and a choice of a pastry or small panino. We then stopped at a vegetable and fruit market and were able to each choose a fruit to snack on. After that we stopped at La Bottega Dell' Olio and were treated to several tastings of olive oils and balsamic vinegars. It was a very special store. We then walked across to the other side of the river to OLIO Restaurant for our cooking lesson. We had a private room for our lesson. We made biscotti, gnocchi with pesto sauce, and eggplant parmigiana. About half way through the restuarant set up a table of cheese, proscioutto, bread, and wine for us. What a delicious snack. We then proceeded to complete our meal of course accompanied by a delicious wine. Even my husband who is not that interested in cooking enjoyed the experience. This really was the highlight of our visit to Florence. The David was wonderful, the Uffizi Gallery grand, buy the cooking course the best. Guiseppi made it relaxed and fun. He was not perturbed when my husband added way too much flour to his biscotti. He just helped him start again.
This was such a fun class! The instructors are halarious and make cooking simple and easy.
Javier and Nickoli were amazing instructors! We had an excellent time with our group learning how to make two types of pasta, sauces, and tiramisu! Just amazing! You should definitely book this while in Florence!
Soooo. Cool. David was awesome
Great tour and very knowledgeable and informative guides and chefs. First you start off with 1hr tour and tasting on the local market. Then you head over to the Florence Food and Wine academy for your cooking class. This is mostly a hands on class, where you make your own pasta, tagliatelle and ravioli, and your individual serving of tiramisu. The sauces for the pasta are via demonstration. You will definitely not leave hungry!! You get a certificate at the end of the class along with all the recipes and more that were made.
By far the best thing we've done in Europe! We were worried we wouldn't have enough food to eat because we had to share with the others but we made sure to make plenty. Very nice you get to keep the recipes as well. Our chef made sure to get everyone involved and was an awesome teacher. If you do one thing, take this course!
Wonderful hosts who helped us learn how to make pasta, tiramisu and a delicious meat sauce aka - ragu. Loved this experience! Thank you.
This tour was booked at the last minute while we were staying in Florence in July. We were greeted by our chef, Giuseppe and taken directly to the local market. He answered all our questions and showed us the local flavor. He was extremely helpful and he made the entire day a highly enjoyable experience. He was able to work with all skill levels and made everyone on the tour feel like they could cook! While there are so many things to do while in Florence, this tour is worth the time and money. We spent many days in this region and this experience was one of the highlights.
The best class ever. The entire experience was incredible and all the food was 100 Italian. Would highly recommend this class to anyone with a cooking desire while in Florence.
Cooking with Jon and David was wonderful experience. Highly recommend. Pleasant educational and delicious at the end. The group we were with was fun to meet and cook with. Highly recommend.
We had an absolute blast in this class. We had a chance to meet people from all over the world. Our instructor was a lot of fun and the food was amazing. She even made a vegitarian option for people at our table.
This was a very nice experience, and what we made was pretty delicious, especially the handmade ravioli!
Our chef/guide shared much about the food products as walked around the Central Market. He was funny and very informative about cheeses, meats, balsamic vinegar. The walk to the cooking class site was just a few mins away.
Our group of about 20 people divided into tables of 5-6 people. We washed our hands in one tiny sink, and donned nice cloth aprons. We were taught how to make tagliatelle bolognese, ravioli stuffed with cheese ricotta and parmesan, and tiramisu. We watched a chef as she prepared the bolognese sauce. We then watched another chef show us how to make pasta by hand. Then we gleefully made our own pastas tagliatelle and ravioli. We again observed how to make tiramisu each made our own single serving of tiramisu. This was very organized way to teach and it wasn't too hard to remember the steps. Once we were done, we were served an appetizer assortment, and then enjoyed the rest of our meal. We were impressed how delicious it all was, and the serving platters on our table were cleaned out. This was a fun and well planned activity. We were provided with the recipes and it was time to venture out and experience more of beautiful Florence on our own.
This was a great introduction to the city of Florence. Our guide/chef Martina, gave us a wonderful tour of the marketplace, explaining the quality of the local products and ingredients we needed for our class. Our dishes were delicious and well thought out. Thank you, Martina and Davide!
A wonderful experience! First we visited the nearby market where we were taken around to see local stalls and specialties. Then we returned to cook, we made two pastas, fettuccini and a ricotta ravioli and also tiramisu. We watched a demo of the Bolognese being made, as it had been made earlier and was cooking for hours before hand. Also had a demo and tasting of olive oils. Then we got to enjoy our fettuccini and Bolognese, and the ravioli in a sage and burnt butter sauce, and then our tiramisu, it was all delicious and we got all the recipes to take home and a lovely certificate to mark the occasion. The staff were all wonderfully experienced and knowledgeable and also very helpful and friendly.
Very good experience with my 15 year old daughter, we had a lot of fun, the time went by fast. The chef did a nice job engaging everyone in the cooking process, you definetely participate and learn. Will totally recommended this tour.
What a wonderful addition to our Italy trip! Martina and David are terrific teachers. The food was delicious, the company entertaining, and, best of all, I feel completely confident in making homemade noodles and ravioli!
