Using Trenitalia’s Frecciabianca fleet, you can now whisk in your choice of 1st or 2nd class between Milan, Genoa, Savona, Monaco, Nice, Cannes, Toulon and Marseille.

Common Questions, Simple Answers
Q. I haven't departed for Europe yet and want to exchange or refund my train ticket. How do I proceed ?
A. No. However, you can change seats once on board. Trains may enter a station in one direction and depart in the opposite direction ; seat positions can change depending on how the train pulls into and out of the station.
Q. Are bicycles admitted onboard trains ?
A. Bicycles are admitted in some trains. They must be put into a box in a separate car. Extra charges may apply. On EC, IC, ICE, and TGV trains bicycles are considered as checked lugages and must be wrapped with wheels and pedals detached.
Q. Must I book a reservation for the Eurostar train ?
A. Yes. A reservation is needed to board the Eurostar. Bookings can be done up to 6 month before departure. Please note that Eurail passes and the France Rail pass do not include Eurostar. However a discount is offered for Eurostar ticket when you are a holder of a Eurail Pass or a France Rail Pass.
Q. What is the definition of Swiss Pass ?
A. The Swiss Pass is a country pass which enables you to use the nation rail network of Switzerland and any public transport in Switzerland. The travel period ranges from 4 days to 1 month in over 40 cities.
Q. Must I book a reservation for the ICE train ?
A. Yes. A reservation is required to board a high speed ICE train, namely the ICE Sprinter which has special and additional services on board. The following routes operated by the ICE Sprinter requires a reservation : Hamburg HBF - Frankfurt HBF, Frankfurt HBF- Berlin HBF, Berlin HBF - Frankfurt HBF, Hamburg HBF – Koeln HBF and Koeln HBF – Hamburg HBF. Travellers can choose Eurail Global or Select Passes, with Germany included (Germany / Eurail Germany-Benelux Pass / Eurail Germany-Denmark Pass / Eurail Germany-France / German Rail Pass) to travel freely in Germany.
Q. Must I book a reservation for the Thalys train ?
A. Yes. A reservation is required to board a high speed Thalys . If you have an Eurail Pass which includes France, Belgium, The Netherlands or Benelux countries, then you are entitled to a Pass Holder fare which usually includes a discount. Those who have a Swiss Pass or a France Rail Pass can also have a Pass Holder fare. Some passes like France Rail Pass but also Eurail passes including Benelux-France / France-Germany / France-Italy / France-Spain / France-Switzerland / Benelux also offers discounts through Passholder deals. Please note than the German Rail Pass is not valid on rail routes which are covered by Thalys to Germany.
Q. Must I book a reservation for the TGV Lyria train ?
A. Yes. A reservation is required to board a high speed TGV Lyria . If you have an Eurail Pass which includes France or Switzerland, then you are entitled to a Pass Holder fare which usually includes a discount. Those who have a Swiss Pass or a France Rail Pass can also have a Pass Holder fare.
Q. To what category of persons does the Eurostar Senior fare applies ?
A. Any person aged 60 or above is eligible to a Eurostar Senior fare.
Q. Can I have unlimited travel within the countries which are mentioned on my Rail Pass ?
A. Yes. You can have unlimited travel onboard trains in the countries that are on your Rail Pass.
Q. What is the main difference between First class and Second class on the TGV (French high speed trains) ?
A. TGV’s First class includes comfortable reclining seats ; food and beverages are available for purchase at the buffet car. However, if Premier service is offered a meal is included in the fare.
